Republicans acknowledge the federal government must raise its debt limit
for the sake of the overall U.S. economy, tea party activists on the
right continue to push for default. Jim Babka, president of a
conservative group known as DownsizeDC.org, is one of those who argue
lawmakers can just do nothing ahead of the looming Tuesday deadline, at
which time the federal government needs an increase in its debt ceiling,
or will be expected to no longer be able to pay all of its bills.</DIV>

THINK how great a shape the U.S. would be in if we could magically
erase all of the Bushies' DAMAGE -- not just the ravages of The Great
Bush Depression, including massive loss of jobs -- but the miserably
failed NCLB law; record deficits and trade imbalances; those failed
and deadly wars; billions of tax dollars stolen by war contractors;
tax cuts for the likes of Mormon Mitt Romney; creation of our "Torture
Nation"; global loss of moral authority and respect; evisceration of
our environmental and safety laws and agencies; and illegal
wiretapping and intrusions upon personal liberties, due to allowing
the 9/11 terrorist attacks to succeed.
