Discussion:
Should atheists be paid for public holidays that recognize events they don't believe in?

They don't believe in God so they shouldn't receive holiday pay
for Christmas. The recognized holiday is "Christmas", not that
"solstice" abomination they call it.

No one is born religious.

You need to be infected by a religion meme and accept
it before you can call yourself religious.

You need to go through a whole bunch of repetitive prose
to be conned into believing in someone else's religion for that.

The next step is to carry all their pet hates and
scores to be settled before you can become a true
believer in their absence, while they jetted off to Majorca or
somewhere nice.

No one can bow to a terrorist.

But bowing to their priests will magically become OK
that until their next whim takes them like taking holidays.

So what you are really saying is that the majority
shouldn't allow anyone in a minority
religion to take a religion based holiday
because they are just infected with a religion meme
which you carry while those that infected you jetted
of on some nice holiday.

That might be your excuse, but the truth is that whatever the name bestowed
on it by the early Christian bullies (pray as we say or our “loving god”
will condemn you to an eternity of fire and brimstone); virtually all
religious festivals are pagan ones which have been hi-jacked by religious
nutters in order to control the population.

Public holidays are just that. Holidays for the public. If committed
Christians cannot cope with atheists having equal rights to themselves, then
they are pretty poor quality Christians.

Whatever happened to Goodwill To all Men?

It's rather sad that someone can propose restricting holiday pay
to delusional nut cases and think himself rational.
